Vacation Bible School 2025
Day 1: What is a Story? We learned about stories: what is a story, where are stories told, and what do we learn from stories. We read about the disciples on the road to Emmaus and how they recognized Jesus after breaking bread together. We sang songs, did crafts, played games, and enjoyed Naan bread.
Day 2: What is your story? What are the stories of people you know? We talked about telling our own stories, and also about listening to the stories of others. We learned about how the early church did all things together and lived together in community. We made a clay pot and played some great water games! And we continued collecting food to help others in our community.
Day 3: How does is feel when your story isn't heard? How can we be sure the stories of others are heard?
Today we talked about what it feels like if you don't feel heard, and also how we can hear and amplify the stories of others. We heard the story of the Samaritan who heard the story of his neighbor and cared for him. We made first aid kits and bags, and played a fun parachute game. We sang songs and enjoyed our last evening together!
"At the Table" is a 3-day VBS program that will invite children and adults to become storytellers, and also to learn how being a faithful disciple means we learn and listen to EVERYONE'S stories. We will learn about our neighbors near and far, and explore how all stories are a part of God's story. We'll explore stories through lessons, crafts, games, and songs.
